Let’s Explore CocoCay & Labadee!

We have not one, but TWO private islands on the itinerary for High Seas Rally in October – CocoCay and Labadee. Both are a beach lovers paradise, with beautiful turquoise water and white sand beaches, with tons to do for the adrenaline junkie as well.

First let’s cover some basics – No, you do not have to pay an additional fee to enjoy each island, plus your food and drink package carries over to the islands. However, if you’re looking for even more action (or relaxation), you can pay for shore excursions, water sports equipment rentals, beach clubs and cabanas (which we’re offering incredible deals on via the HSR website!).

Here’s an insiders look at what to do and see in CocoCay and Labadee!

COCOCAY

CocoCay is located in the Bahamas’ Berry Islands. The centerpiece of this island is its massive water park featuring the tallest waterslide in North America, swim up bars, beautiful beaches, and the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean.

Here’s what you need to know to have the Perfect Day at CocoCay!

CocoCay

Beaches, Sun & Fun

  • Thrill Waterpark: Take a 135-foot plunge down the tallest waterslide in North America, Daredevil’s Peak, just one of 7 slides on Daredevil’s Tower. Buddy-up for the multi-rider raft slides and side-by-side mat racers at Splash Summit. Make a splash in the Caribbean’s largest wave pool ever. Bounce, climb and swing your way through floating lily pads, rope swings and a rock climbing wall at the kid-friendly Adventure Pool. You can book a day pass via My Royal Cruise.
  • Chill Island: If your idea of a fun day is quiet time and getting away from it all, head to Chill Island. Once there, keep to the left side of the area for pristine ocean views that have no music or the sounds of people at the pool or water park. Chill island is free of charge, but you can also book a cabana via the HSR website or purchase a full day beach bed rental via My Royal Cruise.
  • South Beach: Another good option for a quiet spot is South Beach. While South Beach has a floating bar and some music playing, it gets far less crowded than anywhere else because it’s a longer walk and not as obvious a place to find when walking off the ship. South Beach is free of charge, but you can also book a cabana via the HSR website, or purchase a full day beach bed rental via My Royal Cruise.
  • Oasis Lagoon Pool: This is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and has three distinct coves. One is a relaxing area with pool loungers, one has the swim-up pool bar and loud music and the one has a beach-entry area with spray up geysers, pool loungers and chairs and umbrellas. Oasis Lagoon is free of charge, but you can also book a cabana via the HSR website.
  • Coco Beach Club: This is Royal Caribbean’s exclusive private retreat. A little bit poolside, a little bit seaside with an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Sip your favorite tropical cocktails along the water’s edge where a poolside attendant is always close by. And when the craving hits, savor upgraded complimentary dining from the clubhouse. Book your day pass via My Royal Cruise or Book a cabana via HSR website.
  • Wave Jet Tour: Jet around CocoCay and the Berry Islands where you will enjoy a full speed guided tour through the Bahamian waters. Book via My Royal Cruise.
  • Swimming with Pigs: It’s true! You’ll meet a friendly group of pigs that call the island’s tropical setting their home. You’ll learn all about these animals and then have the chance to step into the waters of a shallow beach and be involved in a controlled and professionally supervised environment. A photographer will be on site and photos will be available for purchase! Book via My Royal Cruise.
Captain Jack's

Eat & Drink

Great news! Your food and FREE deluxe beverage package works at CocoCay. This means that you can enjoy unlimited alcoholic beverages, along with bottled water, sodas and more.

  • Skipper’s Grill + Chill Grill: The two main restaurants on the island are Chill Grill and Skipper’s Grill. They serve the same food but are located on opposite sides of the island. They’re like the island’s Windjammer, with the most variety of food to pick from, along with shaded seating nearby. You will find salads, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and soft serve ice cream much more.
  • Snack Shack: Is the only restaurant inside Thrill Waterpark. It offers grab-and-go choices, such as chicken sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, burgers, and salad.
  • Floating Bar on South Beach: It is less of a swim-up bar, and more of a wade-up bar, but once you get to it, you climb a short ladder to get onboard the tiki bar and enjoy drinks in the ocean.
  • Coco Beach Club: The Coco Beach Club has its own restaurant and you will find lobster, steak, grilled fish, ceviche, babaganoush and plenty more to enjoy. Plus, you can order unlimited entrees, so feel free to try a couple of dishes while you are there. Book your day pass via My Royal Cruise or Book a cabana via HSR website.
  • Captain Jack’s: Captain Jack’s is one of the food options on the island that is an extra charge. They offer wings, fries and drinks and have live music in a bar-like atmosphere.
CocoCay Shopping

Shopping

  • Coco Loco Shop: CocoCay merchandise is only available on the island so be sure to get all of the souvenirs you want prior to returning to the ship! You can use your Seapass card to make your purchases here.
  • Straw Market: Several small shops arranged into a small straw market run and staffed by locals. The shops feature local Bahamian crafts that are similar to or the same as the items found at the other Bahamian straw markets in Freeport and Nassau. These are also cash only shops.
Labadee

LABADEE

Labadee is located on the northern coast of Haiti. This slice of paradise has a little something for everyone, with the world’s longest overwater zip line for those looking for a jolt of adrenaline or a spot to cozy up on the white sand beach to relax and kick back. We are the only ship docking at Labadee so we have the entire island to ourselves!

High Seas Rally will also have some fun activities happening while we’re in Labadee, including mini-bike races, a t-shirt swap, and more to be announced soon!

Here’s how to make the most of this private destination on High Seas Rally 2022!

Historical Sites

  • Labadee Historic Walking Tour: Take to the trails to learn more about the traditions, nature and folklore of this Caribbean country. A Haitian historian will tell the tales of several prominent events that impacted both the land and its people in the last 500 years. The experience includes stops at Dragon’s Breath Rock, where you can hear the famous effect of water and air pushing through rock; and the ruins of Nellie’s Place, a trading post allegedly named after an Englishwoman who established it for visiting ships long ago. Book via My Royal Cruise.

Beaches, Sun & Fun

  • Dragon’s Breath and Fire Flight Line: If you’re an adrenaline junkie, this is the spot for you. Enjoy breathtaking views as you fly down feet first on Dragon’s Breath Flight Line, the world’s longest zip line over water—more than 2,600 feet long—at high speeds. Or soar headfirst from on the Dragon’s Fire Flight Line. Either way, you’ll end your thrilling ride at Dragon’s Breath Rock, a unique rock formation where air and water forced through the cracks in its surface make a dragon-like “hissing” sound. Book via My Royal Cruise.
  • A Paradise Cove Escape and Haitian Village Experience: Start your day with a scenic boat ride to Paradise Cove where white sand and the warm Caribbean Sea await. Sit back and sip on a complimentary cocktail, or embark on a kayak adventure along the shore. Afterwards, join a knowledgeable guide as you explore an authentic Haitian teaching village and experience the sights, sounds, and rhythms of everyday Haitian life. Book via My Royal Cruise.
  • Nellie’s Beach: Nellie’s Beach is the perfect place to chill out and enjoy the coastal scenery. You can take a leisurely kayak trip along the shoreline, rent floating mats or sit back on the complimentary beach loungers.
  • A Luxury Sailing Yacht Experience: Climb aboard a 62-foot luxury sailing yacht and navigate past scenic islands and barrier reefs of Labadee. Savor cold beverages while sailing past local fishermen and seaside villages. Drop anchor in secluded bays and remote islands for a refreshing swim, or sit back and relax while listening to island music as the crew caters to your every need. Book via My Royal Cruise.
  • Labadee SportFishing: Hop aboard the Boston Whaler Conquest—a 25-foot fishing vessel equipped with professional rods and reels— reel in wahoo, marlin, tuna, and mahi mahi. Book via My Royal Cruise.
Labadee Floating Island

Food & Drink

Just like CocoCay, your food and FREE deluxe beverage package works in Labadee just as it does on the ship. This means that you can enjoy unlimited alcoholic beverages, along with bottled water, sodas and more. All the food and drink is prepared onboard your cruise ship and then transported ashore. This ensures the same standard and quality that you are used to onboard. However, there are a number of restaurants and bars to sit down and enjoy a meal or a drink!

  • Restaurants: Dragon’s Rock Cafe, Cafe Labadee, Columbus Cove Cafe: Each serve a selection of tasty barbecue meats, hot dogs, burgers, chicken, salads and tropical fruit served buffet-style.
  • Bars: Dragon’s Breath Pub near the pier, the Floating Bar and Schooner Bar on Adrenalin Beach, Nellie’s Tavern and Columbus Cove Bar. They all serve signature cocktails (try the frozen Labadoozie!), virgin mocktails, sodas and beers.
  • Barefoot Beach Club has its own bar and facilities for dining, including an upgraded BBQ buffet. Book a cabana at the Barefoot Beach Club via the HSR website!

Shopping

  • Artisan’s Market: This shopping area sells Haitian crafts and hosts local performers, who sing and dance for guests and offer a taste of the local culture. Cash only.
  • Artisan’s Village: Made up of individual stalls. Guests can purchase crafts, artwork and souvenirs from local vendors. Cash only.
  • Labadee also has trading posts where guests can purchase hats, t-shirts, sunglasses and accessories. Cash only.
