Allentown Motorcycle Club and Biker Santa brings toys

Bikers all over the country have a warm spot for children and love to do good for a good cause. Such was the case when a motorcycle club in Allentown, PA revved up for Christmas. Hundreds of bikers rolled out the holiday cheer down Hamilton Street in Allentown in December. Led by a Biker Santa and Mrs. Claus, they brought toys to all the good girls and boys. “We’ve been doing this every single year, rain, snow, hail, doesn’t matter we’re always here on the motorcycles,” says biker Thomas Seebald.

The pack of bikes rode from Dorney Park to Volunteers of America Center for the 36th annual Abate Toy Run. “It brings out the dedicated bikers, people who want to give back to the community,” Seebald told us.

Organizers say many of these kids haven’t had the jolliest of years. “Sometimes when kids come to us with their parents, they are fleeing domestic violence, they have nothing at all, so they have no toys no clothing,” said Andrea Search, community outreach director of Turning Point America. So it’s their mission to give the kids a reason to smile during the holidays.

“Oh, they’re so excited, jumping up and down and they get to go see Santa, sit on his lap, pick out a toy that a man on a motorcycle brought for them,” said teacher Meg Schantz.

“It’s all about children, we want to see the best so kids can grow up to be the best that they can be,” said Jason Weidner, Lehigh Valley Abate president. Bikers are at their best when they’re doing good; white knights of the road. Are you glad you ride?
