Rick Bray

Rick Bray has sailed on High Seas Rally as a special guest for the past two years, and he is joining us as one of our four builders for 4-Builders, 4-Bikes presented by Law Tigers in 2024! Hailing from a racing background, Rick has been building bikes since 2004. His show-stopping choppers, known for pushing the boundaries of custom fabrication, epitomize the marriage of art and engineering.

He opened his own shop, RKB Kustom Speed in Lemoore, California, in 2010. Rick specializes in custom fabrication. That may sound like a lot of work, but Rick says any job on a motorcycle is more about passion than work. Rick’s lifelong passion for crafting custom motorcycles, cars, trucks, and hot rods traces its roots back two decades to an extraordinary Discovery Channel documentary called “Motorcycle Mania.” This program played a pivotal role in Rick’s journey, igniting a deep fascination with custom craftsmanship. It sparked his determination to become part of the custom motorcycle world. Initially, limited resources drove Rick to become a self-sufficient builder. He constructed his own motorcycles on a tight budget, which eventually led to the opening of his shop. Subsequently, he made a name for himself on the custom bike show circuit and graced the pages of motorcycle magazines. Rick’s accolades include winning Artistry in Iron in 2013 with the “Pala Duro” Shovelhead chopper and earning the title of Builder of the Year from Cycle Source Magazine for his “Solomon’s Special” rigid chopper in 2014. His journey came full circle when he crafted the “One Piece at a Time” green Shovel for the Discovery Channel’s Biker Build-off series, inspiring a new generation of builders worldwide. Rick’s philosophy centers on clean, minimalist designs that prioritize both form and function. Rick’s show-stopping choppers, known for pushing the boundaries of custom fabrication, epitomize the marriage of art and engineering.
